Bill and Jan Upjohn offer us a once in a lifetime experience.
From 3 - 5 days we "disappear" into the depths of the stunning Macleay Gorges.
This is strictly a pack-horse trip. There is no other way in or out of the gorge.
Our old friend Max Brennan might come along some times too, when his Brumby
Relocation Contract with the National Parks Authority permits.
Great hosts! Great horses! Lots of wildlife, beautiful scenery and magic mornings.
You need to be fit and not afraid of heights.

'Oh No not down there again', says Profile
When a true Aussie bush experience is sought, this is it! It's best
for intermediate riders, not for beginners. Departures are by arrangement.
No fixed schedules.
The gorges west of Uralla are another thing again – the ultimate wilderness retreat.
House without walls, electricity, phone, TV (not even the mobile works), but there
is a piano! Great swimming holes down in the gorge, you can fish for your dinner,
cook it over the open fire place in the house – sheer magic the very, very
ultimate retreat.
There are three ways of getting there. The long way – ride from Uralla, one very full
day, the medium way: truck horses and riders most of the way, then ride – half a
day or helicopter in – perfect scenery from the air: 30 - 45minutes.
A new addition are the rides from West Kunderang. These are either 4
or 8 days and can be enjoyed by the entire family, children from 12 years
can take part. This is a 4WD vehicle supplied ride.
